Export Methods:

  • PowerPoint Export: Click the PPT icon to automatically generate a presentation
  • Both options are available in the toolbar above your lesson plan
  • Exports maintain the structure and sequence of your lesson plan
PowerPoint Export

PowerPoint Export Features

Each activity block in your lesson plan is specially formatted for PowerPoint presentation, with features designed to support effective instruction.

Key PowerPoint Features:

  • Activity blocks are clearly signposted at the start of each section
  • Visual indicators show whether activities are for decoding (speaker icon) or encoding (pen icon)
  • Teaching scripts are included on each slide for easy reference
  • Activities are formatted for optimal classroom display

Activity-Specific Formatting:

  • Visual Drills: Each letter/sound appears on its own slide for focused practice
  • Word Chains: Progressive word changes are shown step by step
  • Non-visual activities (like segmenting drills) include instructions without displaying target words
  • Teaching scripts maintain consistency across all slides
Technical Considerations

Understanding Font Export Limitations

Due to technical and licensing constraints, Spellcaster's custom fonts cannot be exported directly into PowerPoint presentations. This limitation requires some additional consideration when preparing your presentations.

Font Export Details:

  • Custom handwriting fonts used in Spellcaster cannot be exported to PowerPoint
  • PowerPoint exports will default to system fonts
  • Users need to apply their preferred handwriting fonts locally in PowerPoint
  • This limitation affects all text elements in exported presentations

Managing Fonts:

  • Install preferred handwriting fonts on your local machine
  • Apply these fonts to exported PowerPoint slides as needed
  • Consider using standard handwriting fonts available in PowerPoint
  • Save frequently used font selections as PowerPoint templates
