Who is Responsible for What?
When purchasing or using Spellcaster, your School (or you as a parent/guardian for individual accounts) remains the Data Controller. Spellcaster acts as the Data Processor when providing our products and services to you.
Customer Responsibilities:
- Ensure the personal information added to the system is accurate (e.g., teacher and pupil details)
- Manage access permissions for teachers and students
- Handle any reports or data extracted from the system
- Obtain necessary consents from parents/guardians (if required by local laws)
Spellcaster Responsibilities:
- Ensure that our systems operate securely
- Meet and maintain our own security obligations
- Process personal data as defined in our agreement with you
Data We Collect and How We Use It
1. Account Information
What we collect: Names and email addresses of customer, and learner name and user name as provided by customer
How we use it: To set up administrative accounts and user profiles
2. Usage Data
What we collect: Information about a student's progress through the Spellcaster platform, including game scores, learning items the student has found difficult, login times, and duration of use
How we use it: To build a profile of educational requirements, direct learning, maximize the effectiveness of the program, and generate progress reports
3. Payment Information
What we collect: Payment details for purchases
How we use it: To process payments and maintain records of transactions
Note: Payments are facilitated by Stripe and/or Xero. Spellcaster does not store your payment information.
